FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Syracuse, NY, 10/10/10– CitrusTV, the student-run television studio at Syracuse University, now has over 350 student members. The membership is comprised solely of Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF students. Not only is this a record-breaking number for the studio, but it also makes CitrusTV the largest registered student organization at Syracuse University. With about 210 active members, University Union has the second-most members. The record number of student registrations can be attributed to many factors, including the newly-upgraded, HD-ready equipment.
For years, CitrusTV has provided a hands-on, experiential learning environment to Syracuse University and SUNY-ESF students. Many studio members who graduated last year now have full time jobs as reporters and producers (less than five months after graduating). Their employers include ABC, NBC, CNBC, ESPN, Time Warner Cable Sports, Fox Sports Network, ESPN Deportes, as well as local affiliates in Montana, Texas, New York, Massachusetts, Maine and Pennsylvania.
