Happy new year, station members,
Hopefully you had a relaxing and enjoyable break. Now that the spring semester is starting, here’s a CitrusTV update.
Spring Semester Registration - get access
Everyone must re-register for the spring semester. Just fill out the form at register.citrustv.net. Please do this ASAP, so your ID card is activated for the front door, you stay on the listserv and you can continue using station equipment.
Neatness counts - keep it clean and organized this semester
When stop by the station, you’ll notice things were cleaned and organized over the break. Keep it this way. With 250 station members using our equipment, it’s extremely important things are neat and where they belong.
Whenever you leave the station, it should look better than it did when you got there. Shows that repeatedly leave the station a mess will be punished. Those that clean up and keep things organized will get gold stars and free candy. Hold me to this.
If you find things out of line or equipment that isn’t working, notify our operations manager Bill (wrsharpi@citrustv.net), and he or someone else from the operations department will help you out.
and foundSpeaking of neatness, there’s a lost and found box at the front of the station on the mailboxes underneath the TV. It will be emptied soon, so please check if anything in there is yours. And please use it for misplaced items you find in the station.
General Interest Meeting
Our general interest meeting will be on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 8:30 p.m. in Watson Theater. You’re all invited, and you’re encouraged to invite anyone else who might be interested in joining the station this semester.
OTN is streaming online
Do you live off campus and can’t get OTN? Or want to share your shows with friends and family off campus? OTN is streaming online.Tune in here.
Hours - meet with your exec staffAll exec staff members are at the station during their office hours and available to meet with you. Please consult the bulletin board at the front of the station, or check the exec staff page for the listing of hours, which will be posted soon.
Below are my office hours this semester. I highly encourage you to stop by sometime to discuss any ideas you have for the station or any issues you might be having. I’m also happy to offer any help I can with picking out classes, finding internships or anything else you can think of.
I’ll regularly be in my office during these times. If you need to setup an appointment outside of these hours, just email me.
Monday - 1 to 3 p.m.
Wednesday - 2 to 4 p.m.
Thursday - 11 a.m. to 12 noon
Friday - 12 noon to 2 p.m.
Change in online sports shows policies
Because of rights policies with ESPN and SU Athletics, full episodes of our sports programs will no longer appear online. Some clips will still appear online. The full episodes will only be accessible to watch on demand on the station’s internal computer network.
Entertainment Department update
There has been some concern about our entertainment programs after the difficulties we’ve had putting out shows last semester. As a station, we must all remain committed to upholding the CitrusTV mission of producing high quality entertainment programming.
Float your Boat and Syracuse After Hours both were renewed for the spring semester with stipulations and deadlines they must meet. Our entertainment director Ali (amierzejewski@citrustv.net) is working with both shows to ensure their success.
As an exec staff and a station as a whole, we stand firmly behind the entertainment department and every other show and department. Please do what you can to support all of our programming.
I’m looking forward to this semester, and I hope you are too. Let’s get a little bit rowdy, R-O-W-woo-D-Y.
